We draw your specific attention to our Cancellation Policy and Health Information below:
CANCELLATION & Transfer POLICY
Refund & Transfer Policy (Without Cancellation Insurance) ...
At EMDR Academy, we understand that circumstances can change. Our refund and transfer policy is designed to be fair while ensuring we can continue to deliver high-quality training.
How the Policy Works
Our full EMDR training is delivered in two blocks:
Block 1: Parts 1 & 2
Block 2: Parts 3 & 4
Refunds and transfers apply per block, and are based on the amount of notice provided before the start of Part 1 or Part 3 (i.e. the beginning of each training block).
| Notice Given Before Start of Part 1 or Part 3 | Transfer Allowed | Admin Fee | Refund Available |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 weeks or more | ✅ Yes | None | 100% refund |
| 6–8 weeks | ✅ Yes | £40 + VAT | 75% refund |
| 4–6 weeks | ✅ Yes | £75 + VAT | 50% refund |
| Less than 4 weeks | ❌ No | Not applicable | No refund |
Key Conditions
Transfers apply to Part 1 or Part 3 only, as these are the entry points for each training block. Transfers are subject to availability.
Parts 1 & 2 and Parts 3 & 4 are treated as single units — cancellations or transfers apply to the whole block.
If you booked all 4 parts at once and received a discount, but cancel or transfer a block, you will no longer be eligible for the discounted rate. The discount will be removed and the full price for the attended block will apply.
Example 1:
You booked all 4 parts and cancel 7 weeks before Part 1 starts. → You are eligible for a 75% refund on Parts 1 & 2, minus a £40 + VAT admin fee. → Parts 3 & 4 remain booked as planned unless you are cancelling all 4 parts.
Example 2:
You cancel 3 weeks before Part 3 starts. → No refund or transfer is available, as it falls within the 4-week cut-off. → You would forfeit the fee for Parts 3 & 4.
Example 3:
You cancel 9 weeks before Part 3 starts but already completed Part 1 & 2. → You are eligible for a 100% refund on Parts 3 & 4. → You will retain your place and certificate for the completed block.
If you are unable to attend Clinical Supervision as planned (Parts 2 or 4) the following options apply:
You can source and pay for your own CS with an EMDR Consultant. Once you have made up the 4-hours we ask that your Consultant emails us to confirm this
We can add you to another date in the future (when we have a cancellation). This would be chargeable at £120 plus vat (£144)
Cancellation Insurance (Optional Add-On) ...
We offer an optional cancellation insurance add-on to provide flexibility in the event of genuine, unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from attending your scheduled training. This includes situations such as illness, family emergencies, bereavement, or major travel disruption.
Cancellation insurance must be purchased at the time of booking or no later than 8 weeks before the start of training. It is non-refundable once purchased.
What Cancellation Insurance Covers
One-time use per block: Insurance entitles you to either a refund or a transfer for the training block it covers.
Applies to:
Parts 1 & 2
Parts 3 & 4
Or both blocks if full-course insurance is purchased.
Can only be used if you are unable to attend the full block due to a qualifying unforeseen event.
Transfers remain subject to availability.
What Cancellation Insurance Does Not Cover:
Cancellation insurance does not apply in the following situations:
Change of mind
Change of job or diary conflicts
Personal or professional dissatisfaction with the course content or delivery
Any withdrawal after attending any part of the training block (e.g. attending Day 1 of Part 1 means that insurance is considered used)
Only full, unused blocks (either Parts 1 & 2 or Parts 3 & 4) are eligible for a refund under the policy. Partial refunds will not be issued once the training has begun.
Key Conditions:
Insurance is valid for one use only per covered block.
Refunds or transfers will not be offered if:
The cancellation reason does not fall under the scope of a genuine unforeseen event.
The block has already been partially attended.
If the delegate has already used the insurance to transfer, it cannot be used again to cancel or transfer the new date.
| Training Block Covered | Price (incl. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Parts 1 & 2 | £115 |
| Parts 3 & 4 | £115 |
| All 4 Parts (bundle) | £230 |
For Workshops and Refresher days ...
A full refund is given if cancellation is made 2 weeks or more before start date - No refund will be given if cancellation is made 14 days or less. Including non attendance on the day due to illness/bereavement/travel.
method of cancelling ...
To cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing via one of the following methods:
By email: Send your cancellation to info@emdracademy.co.uk
By recorded delivery post: The EMDR Academy 8 The Dale Tiverton Tarporley Cheshire CW6 9ND
Please include your full name and booking details so we can identify your order.
Important Information: If you cancel by email, the cancellation is effective from the date and time the email is sent (provided it is received before midnight on that day).
If cancelling by recorded delivery, the cancellation is effective from the date we receive the letter.
If you are booked on all parts of the course, your booking is treated as a single booking. For cancellation purposes, use the start date of Part 1 as the relevant date.
Our cancellation policy helps us manage course availability and costs effectively. Unfortunately, no refunds will be given if cancellation deadlines are missed—even in cases of illness or bereavement. If you are unable to complete a training part due to sickness or another reason, you must rebook the full part. It is not possible to attend only the missed days
IF THE STRESS & TRAUMA CENTRE LTD HAD TO CANCEL A TRAINING ...
In the unlikely event of the course being cancelled or postponed for reasons outside of our control, The Stress & Trauma Centre Ltd will not be liable for travel and/or accommodation costs incurred. However, the full registration fee will be refunded or alternative dates arranged or we will replace our EMDR trainer with another EMDR trainer from our team if possible.
SUBSTITUTING DELEGATES ...
At our complete discretion, we will consider a request by the same organisation to substitute a delegate if the original delegate is unable to attend. If we accept a substitution, there will be a mandatory additional administration charge of
£50 +VAT
payable in advance of the course start date. Please contact The Stress & Trauma Centre to discuss this at least 14 calendar days before the first training date.
The EMDR Academy reserve the right to remove you from the course and refund your fees for remaining parts if they deem that you are not suitable for the training.
General terms & health advice
employer PAYMENTS ...
If the delegates employer is funding the course, and the payment is delayed by 3 months or more the delegate will be charged the course fees. If the delegate books on the course and an invoice is raised and we have confirmed your place the cancellation fees still apply and your employer will still be charged even if you cancel your training out of the cancellation period. Cheques are accepted but there is a £10 charge, please add this to your bill if paying by cheque.
HEALTH ADVICE ...
Please do get in touch with us if you are in the 1st or 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This is because you work on some of your own memories during the course which may increase your emotions and you may find upsetting or cause distress. We sometimes have delegates that are pregnant and attend the course.
We advise those that do attend do so purely at their own risk because they will still have to work on their own material during the course as an essential part of the training. If they still attend we then advise them to work with easier / safer memories.
Please also inform the trainer prior to the training if you suffer with
vertigo, inner ear problems, migraines or epilepsy.
We will not be held liable for any decisions made about your own health. It is up to you to contact a health professional if you are concerned about your health.
PAYMENTS ...
Payments are made directly when booking via Credit/Debit card if self funding. Payments are accepted via BACS when employer funded.
Payments must be made within 30 days of your employer receiving the invoice.
If individual parts are booked then full payment must be received on booking to confirm your place. Full payment must be made when applications are submitted within 6 weeks of the first training day. This can be made via secure credit card (no charge) debit card transaction (no charge) or bank transfer (no charge), once your eligibility to attend is confirmed.
Reference Letters ...
If you require a letter from us stating that you have completed our EMDR Accredited training then we are happy to provide this for an admin fee of
£25 plus vat
We will require a letter template from you which includes all the information required in order to provide this reference.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS ...
There shall be at least 8 weeks between training Part 1 and Part 3 to allow for practice and supervision, according to regulations set out by the accrediting body, EMDR Europe.
Although the course is not formally assessed there are various conditions that must be met to complete the course; these include full participation in all practicals, positive engagement and respect for all colleagues learning the model and working with 3 clients and bringing these cases to discuss in training supervision.
In addition, working with a new model and with trauma can be challenging, therefore, The EMDR Academy reserves the right to withdraw delegates from the course at any point if they deem them unsuitable for the training. The safety of clients and clinical work will always be our top priority.
You must attend all hours of the training (0900-1730) requested of you across each of the days to gain your accredited training certificate. You must work on your own material/memories during each part of the training and full course participation is expected.

£15 + VAT

On completion of parts 1 & 4 of the EMDR Basic training you will be sent an online feedback form via “GOOGLE FORMS" that we ask you to complete. In order to reduce our carbon footprint, all certificates will be issued in a PDF format.
There is, however, an option to purchase a hard copy of your final Part 4 certificate if you wish. Final hard copy part 4 certificates have a lead time of 6 weeks as they are professionally printed.
Due to the courses being accredited with EMDR Europe we are obliged to request feedback in the form of a survey undertaken after your training. This is to ensure that we comply with Emdr Europe standards and that you are always provided with the most up to date and relevant training.
Pdf.Certificates are only provided and will be issued after your survey has been completed. Part 1 and 4 replacement certificate PDF Versions can be provided *free of charge**
